Christian Womens Job Corps

CWJCThe purpose of CWJC is to provide a Christian context in which women in need are equipped for life and employment; and a mission context in which women help women.

It differs for other job-readiness programs in these ways:

  1. Each participant is involved in Bible study, and
  2. Each participant is also matched with a trained Christian woman who will be a mentor as she travels the road from dependency to self-sufficiency.

Has God been preparing your heart for this work?

Immediate needs – November 2009

Prayer Team and Leader - UPDATE: We now have a prayer team leader and our prayer team is growing.  There are still openings for those whom the Lord has called to pray for the ministry.

Volunteers for Advisory Council – The advisory council will be working body of no more than 12 members. They will have the immediate tasks of …

…developing a vision statement and goals for the Petoskey CWJC based on

assessment of local needs,

…preparing the policy and procedure manual with the site coordinator,

…raising funds necessary to operate the program, and

…providing guidance based upon their areas of expertise

Here are some of the categories of experience that are desirable among advisory council members: adult education provider; banker, CPA, or someone with a financial background; Career or guidance counselor; city or county representative; community leader; entrepreneur; insurance agent; lawyer; religious leader; small business owner; social worker; someone from the medical community; someone who has made the transition from dependency to self-sufficiency.

Previous experience serving on an advisory council or a non-profit board of directors is highly desirable.

  • Sponsors – sponsors agree to provide on-going support for the ministry in prayer, and other ways.
